Глава 32

1 После таких дел и такой верности, пришел Санхерив, царь Ассирийский, и вступил в Иудею, и расположился станом при укрепленных городах, и думал отторгнуть их себе.

2 Когда Езекия увидел, что Санхерив пришел и имеет намерение воевать против Иерусалима;

3 Тогда в совете с князьями своими и с военными людьми своими положил засыпать колодези с водою, которые вне города; и они помогли ему.

4 И собралось множество народа, и засыпали все колодези и поток разливающийся по земле, говоря: для чего царям Ассирийским приходить и находить множество воды?

5 И действовал он твердо, и обстроил всю обрушившуюся стену, башни поднял выше, и извне построил другую стену, и укрепил Милло у города Давидова, и наготовил множество оружия и щитов;

6 Поставил над народом военачальников, и собрал их к себе на площадь у городских ворот, и ободрял сердце их, говоря:

7 Будьте тверды и мужественны, не бойтесь и не ужасайтесь царя Ассирийского и всего многолюдства, которое с ним; потому что с нами более, нежели с ним.

8 С ним телесная сила, а с нами Господь, Бог наш, Который будет помогать нам и будет сражаться на битвах наших. И подкрепился народ словами Езекии, царя Иудейского.

9 После сего Санхерив, царь Ассирийский, оставаясь сам со всеми подвластными себе у Лахиса, послал рабов своих в Иерусалим к Езекии, царю Иудейскому, и ко всем Иудеям, которые в Иерусалиме, и велел сказать:

10 Так говорит Санхерив, царь Ассирийский: на что вы надеетесь и сидите в крепости, в Иерусалиме?

11 Верно, Езекия отклоняет вас, чтоб дать вам умереть от голода и жажды, говоря: Господь, Бог наш спасет нас от руки царя Ассирийского.

12 Не сам ли Езекия отменил высоты его и жертвенники его, и сказал Иудее и Иерусалиму: пред одним жертвенником поклоняйтесь, и на нем совершайте курения?

13 Разве вы не знаете, что сделал я и отцы мои со всеми народами земель? Могли ли боги народов земных спасти землю свою от руки моей?

14 Какой из всех богов тех народов, которых опустошали отцы мои, мог спасти народ свой от руки моей? Так неужели Бог ваш может спасти вас от руки моей?

15 Итак, пусть не обольщает вас Езекия, и не отклоняет вас таким образом; не верьте ему. Если ни один бог ни одного народа и царства не мог спасти народа своего от руки моей и от руки отцев моих, то тем более ваши боги не спасут вас от руки моей.

16 И еще многое говорили слуги его против Господа Бога и против Езекии, раба Его.

17 Он писал и письма, в которых хулил Господа, Бога Израилева, и говорил против него такие слова: как боги народов земных не спасли народов своих от руки моей, так Бог Езекиин не спасет народа своего от руки моей.

18 И громким голосом на Иудейском языке кричали к народу Иерусалимскому, который был на стене, чтоб устрашить его и возмутить его, для того, чтобы взять город.

19 И говорили о Боге Иерусалимском как будто о богах народов земли, изделии рук человеческих.

20 И молились о сем царь Езекия и пророк Исаия, сын Амоцов, и возопили к небу.

21 И послал Господь Ангела, и он истребил всех воинов, и главноначальствующего, и прочих начальствующих в стане царя Ассирийского. Сей со стыдом возвратился в землю свою; и когда пришел в дом богов своих, там исшедшие из чресл его низложили его мечем.

22 Так спас Господь Езекию и жителей Иерусалима от руки Санхерива, царя Ассирийского, и от руки всех, и сопровождал их повсюду.

23 Тогда многие приносили в Иерусалим дары Господу, и дорогие вещи Езекии, царю Иудейскому. И он после сего сделался высок в глазах всех народов.

24 В те дни Езекия заболел смертельно. И молился он Господу, и говорил Ему, и Господь дал ему знамение.

25 Впрочем, Езекия не соответствовал благодеянию, ему сделанному; но сердце его возгордилось. И потому гнев Божий был на нем, и на Иудее, и на Иерусалиме.

26 Но Езекия в гордости сердца своего смирился сам и жители Иерусалима; и потому гнев Господа не постиг их во дни Езекии.

27 У Езекии было весьма много богатства и славы, и сделал у себя хранилища для серебра и золота, и драгоценных камней, и для ароматов и щитов, и для всяких драгоценных сосудов,

28 И кладовые для произведений земли, для хлеба, вина и деревянного масла, и стойла для всякого скота и дворы для стад.

29 И города построил у себя. И стад мелкого и крупного скота было множество у него; потому что Бог дал ему весьма большое имущество.

30 Он же, Езекия, запер верхний проток вод Гихона, и провел их вниз к западной стороне города Давидова. И действовал Езекия успешно во всяком деле своем.

31 Только лишь при послах князей Вавилонских, которые присылали к нему спросить о знамении, бывшем на земле. Бог оставил его, чтоб испытать его, чтоб знать все, что у него на сердце.

32 Прочие деяния Езекии и его добродетели описаны в видении пророка Исаии, сына Амоцова, в книге царей Иудейских и Израильских.

33 И опочил Езекия с отцами своими, и похоронили его в высшей из гробниц сыновей Давидовых, и тем воздали ему почесть по смерти его все Иудеи и жители Иерусалима. Вместо его сделался царем сын его, Манассия.

2 Chronicles

Chapter 32

1 AFTER these things and the faithful acts which Hezekiah did, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah and encamped against the fortified cities, and said to their inhabitants, Give me a pledge and come to me.

2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib king of Assyria and his armies had come to fight against Jerusalem,

3 He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to conceal the waters of the fountains which were outside the city; and they did help him.

4 So there was gathered a great multitude of the people of Israel together, who concealed all the fountains and the great brooks that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Lest the king of Assyria come and find much water.

5 They also strengthened themselves and built up one wall opposite the other and polluted the canal which David had constructed. And Hezekiah made weapons, shields, and spears in abundance.

6 And he set captains of war over the people, each one over ten, and gathered them together to him in the market place of the city, and spoke to all of them, saying.

7 Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed in the presence of the king of Assyria, nor in the presence of all the armies that have come with him; for there is more with us than with him:

8 With him is an arm of flesh; with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles. And the people were encouraged with the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

9 After this Sennacherib king of Assyria sent Rab-shakey together with his servants, and they came to Jerusalem (but he himself was besieging Lachish, and all his commanders with him) to all the people of Judah that were in Jerusalem, saying,

10 Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria: On whom are you trusting, that you remain in Jerusalem during the siege?

11 Hezekiah is deceiving you that he may give you over to die by famine and by thirst, and moreover he is misleading you, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hands of the king of Assyria.

12 Has not the same Hezekiah removed his high places and altars, and commanded Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, You shall worship before one altar and burn incense upon it?

13 Perhaps you know what I and my fathers have done to all the people of other lands? And the gods of nations of those lands were not able to deliver their lands out of my hand.

14 Who is there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed that was able to deliver his people out of my hand, that the LORD should be able to deliver you out of my hand?

15 Now therefore do not let Hezekiah deceive you nor make you to trust in this, and do not believe him; for your God will not be able to deliver you out of my hand; for all nations and kingdoms have not been able to deliver their cities out of my hand, and out of the hands of my fathers; your God also will not be able to deliver you out of my hand.

16 And his servants spoke these things before the LORD God of Israel and in the presence of his servant Hezekiah.

17 And he wrote letters to revile the LORD God of Israel, and to speak to the people of Israel, saying, As the gods of the nations of these lands were unable to deliver their cities out of my hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah be able to deliver his city out of my hand.

18 Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jewish language to the people who were seated on the wall of Jerusalem, to frighten them and to trouble them, that they might capture the wall of the city.

19 And they spoke in the name of the gods of the people of the earth and also in the name of the God of Jerusalem, imploring him to reward them according to the work of their hands.

20 Then Hezekiah and Isaiah the son of Amoz, the prophet, prayed because of this, and the LORD heard the voice of their prayer.

21 And the LORD sent an angel from before him, who smote all the mighty men of valour and the kings and the princes who were in the camp of the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria returned in disgrace to his own land. And when he came into the house of his gods, his sons, who came forth of his own loins, slew him there with the sword.

22 Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hands of Sennacherib the king of Assyria and from the hand of all of those who invaded their borders.

23 And many of the children of Israel brought gifts to the LORD to Jerusalem, and gave presents to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted before all nations.

24 In those days Hezekiah was sick to death, and he prayed before the LORD and said, Thou hast performed mighty miracles for me and thou hast rewarded me according to the works of my hands.

25 And the sickness of Hezekiah was due to the pride of his heart; therefore the wrath of the LORD came upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

26 But Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

27 And Hezekiah had exceeding great wealth and honor; and he made for himself treasuries for silver and for gold and for precious stones and for spices and for shields and for all manner of pleasant vessels;

28 Storehouses also for the increase of grain and wine and oil; and stalls for all kinds of beasts;

29 And folds for herds and for flocks, and for oxen and other beasts; for the LORD had given him very much substance.

30 This same Hezekiah also buried the outlet for the waters of the upper spring and brought it straight down to the western cistern of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works.

31 And he sought the law of the LORD, as it was given in the land, and the LORD knew all that was in his heart.

32 Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his goodness and his excellent ways, behold, they are written in the prophecy of Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, and in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

33 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honor at his death, and they returned to Jerusalem. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

16 И еще многое говорили слуги его против Господа Бога и против Езекии, раба Его.

16 And his servants spoke these things before the LORD God of Israel and in the presence of his servant Hezekiah.

22 Так спас Господь Езекию и жителей Иерусалима от руки Санхерива, царя Ассирийского, и от руки всех, и сопровождал их повсюду.

22 Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hands of Sennacherib the king of Assyria and from the hand of all of those who invaded their borders.

23 Тогда многие приносили в Иерусалим дары Господу, и дорогие вещи Езекии, царю Иудейскому. И он после сего сделался высок в глазах всех народов.

23 And many of the children of Israel brought gifts to the LORD to Jerusalem, and gave presents to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted before all nations.

24 В те дни Езекия заболел смертельно. И молился он Господу, и говорил Ему, и Господь дал ему знамение.

24 In those days Hezekiah was sick to death, and he prayed before the LORD and said, Thou hast performed mighty miracles for me and thou hast rewarded me according to the works of my hands.

25 Впрочем, Езекия не соответствовал благодеянию, ему сделанному; но сердце его возгордилось. И потому гнев Божий был на нем, и на Иудее, и на Иерусалиме.

25 And the sickness of Hezekiah was due to the pride of his heart; therefore the wrath of the LORD came upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

26 Но Езекия в гордости сердца своего смирился сам и жители Иерусалима; и потому гнев Господа не постиг их во дни Езекии.

26 But Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

27 У Езекии было весьма много богатства и славы, и сделал у себя хранилища для серебра и золота, и драгоценных камней, и для ароматов и щитов, и для всяких драгоценных сосудов,
